We are CLOSED to New Patients

We booked January - April 2024

before 1pm today (October 2nd)

Thank you!

We will open to new patients

Monday October 2nd at 8:00am

We will be scheduling for January - April 2024.

We are fully booked for EVERYONE through December 2023.

Previous patients are also scheduling in the new year.

Relines are scheduling in February 2024.

Our new provider, Cass, has started seeing patients.  She is currently covering for Mike while he navigates some health issues.  This limits both what is available for her as well as what is available for Mike.  As we get through his scheduled procedures we will be able to add more patients to see both of them separately. Until then we ask for your patience - we love Mike and want him to be able to continue making dentures and partials for many years to come!

June 1, 2023

Renovations have begun!

We have started the process to expand our office to bring a new
Licensed Denturist into the fold.  She has been working with us

as a dental laboratory technician for 7+ years learning everything we can teach her.

Part of her schooling has her seeing patients with Joe watching

and she is excited for this next step in her career.

We will be posting here first when we have an expected start date for her

and when we will begin taking calls to schedule patients to see her.  Stay tuned!!

We are CLOSED to New Patients (again..)

We booked October-December in 2 days!!

Right now we will not open our calendar again until October 2nd to schedule for January 2024.  Thank you so much for your continued support of our office.  We appreciate everyone sharing us with their family and friends.  We are working on a renovation to our office this summer.  Without spilling too much, we are revamping the front of the office to expand the waiting room to get people out of their cars and back inside!  We are also expanding....stay tuned!! By the end of the summer we may be opening our calendar to new patients again!!  We will keep you posted!!

We are CLOSED to New Patients again!

WE ARE FULLY BOOKED THROUGH THE END OF JUNE 2023

It took us just 3 days to schedule 3  months when we opened our phone lines to new patients on January 2nd.  We greatly appreciate that people want to get into our office but we are unfortunately limited to how many people we can see in a day.

Thank you for your patience and we look forward to hearing from you when we reopen to new patients.

We are fully booked through the end of April 2023. We will begin taking new patients again in January 2023.

September 2022 Update

We have opened our 2023 calendar. We have been scheduling new patient consultations since 9/1 and have already filled Jan & Feb. Once we fill March & April, we will again be closed to new patients.

RELINES ARE SCHEDULING IN JANUARY FOR ALL PATIENTS.

REPAIRS MUST BE SCHEDULED. YOU CANNOT STOP IN AND GET A REPAIR DONE THE SAME DAY. PLEASE CALL TO SCHEDULE ALL REPAIRS. NEW PATIENT REPAIRS TO BE DONE THE SAME DAY ARE SCHEDULING IN OCTOBER.

PREVIOUS PATIENTS WANTING NEW DENTURES OR PARTIALS ARE SCHEDULING IN FEBRUARY 2023.

JULY 2022

PREVIOUS UPDATE FROM JULY 2022

WE ARE NOT A MAINECARE BILLING FACILITY.

We do not plan on becoming a MaineCare billing facility.

We are not aware of who does work with MaineCare. You can contact MaineCare for that information

WE ARE STILL CLOSED TO NEW PATIENTS.

You can call September 1st to schedule starting in January 2023. Please note that the last time we opened to new patients we scheduled 4 months in 4 days. We schedule based on who calls first. We cannot guarantee that appointments will still be available when you call.

• PREVIOUS PATIENTS WANTING NEW DENTURES ARE SCHEDULING IN JANUARY 2023.

• REPAIRS FOR NEW PATIENTS ARE SCHEDULING OUT ABOUT A MONTH.

• PREVIOUS PATIENTS: PLEASE CALL TO HEAR YOUR OPTIONS AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.

• RELINES (for everyone) ARE SCHEDULING IN DECEMBER.

We understand how frustrating it is for everyone who calls in expecting to be able to see us within a week or two to hear that we are scheduling so far out, but until we expand and hire, we really are scheduling that far out.  We are doing the best we can to schedule in as many patients as possible. We can place you on a cancellation list once you have a scheduled appointment but we do not keep a call list.

We understand your concerns about being able to eat without your denture being repaired or replaced. May we suggest protein shakes, well-cooked potatoes, sweet potatoes, eggs in many forms, ground beef, ground chicken, soup, quiche, pasta and oatmeal as great alternatives until we get to your scheduled appointment.

Unfortunately, we don't have another office to send you to and we don't have one we will recommend for you to try. Looking at reviews online as well as asking friends and relatives are good options for finding somewhere else to go if you just can't wait to get in to see us. We look forward to seeing you just as soon as we can.

June 2022

Previous Update from June 2022:

WE ARE STILL CLOSED TO NEW PATIENTS

We are fully booked through the end of December 2022.

You can call September 1st to schedule for January 2023 or later.

Summer has arrived!

BUT

We are currently scheduling previous patients for new dentures at the end of October. Pretty soon we will have this entire year booked for new dentures and partials whether you're a previous or a new patient.

Relines are scheduling in October.

Repairs for new patients are scheduling the last week of July (as of today, June 6th).

If you a previous patient and you need a repair, I need to have an appointment for you to pick up your denture.  This will be done sooner than the end of July, but you will have to go without it for a day or two and we may not be able to get you in during the week that you call.  It all depends on what I have for open appointments.

I feel I do need to mention the reason that we can't schedule you sooner -

it's because there is someone else already scheduled!

We can only see so many people in a day and we really are maxing out every day.

We are doing our very best and plan to continue to do so as long as there are patients waiting to see us.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding!

WE ARE CLOSED TO NEW PATIENTS AGAIN

As of today, Monday, May 9th, 2022, we are fully booked through the end of December 2022 and are no longer scheduling new patient consultations.

We will begin scheduling our January 2023 calendar in September.

We are grateful for everyone who has been referring their friends and family.  It is astounding to us that it took just 1 week for us to schedule 3 months of new patient consultations. If you are a previous patient and are looking for a new set of dentures or partials please call and see where we are scheduling impressions.  We are fully booked through the summer and the last person I scheduled for impressions was scheduled into October.

We do take new patients for relines and repairs. If you schedule for either of these types of appointments in the hope that you will be able to turn it into a new denture appointment, you will be disappointed. Relines and repairs are a same day, 2 appointment schedule.  New dentures require 4-6 appointments and 3-4 weeks. At the risk of repeating myself and becoming redundant, we are fully booked and the only way to add you to that schedule is for someone already on it to cancel.

Relines are scheduling in August or later for Joe, and end of July or later for Mike.

Repairs for previous patients are scheduling 2-4 weeks out and new patients are scheduling at the end of June.

We do have cancellation lists but in order to be placed on the cancellation list you must have a scheduled appointment in place.  We do not have a "call" list for people who are not already scheduled. We usually find out that a patient needs to cancel when we call the day before to confirm the appointment or when the patient does not show up for their appointment that day.  If we find out the day before we call the next person on the cancellation list. As we allow people to arrive 15 minutes late to their appointments we do not usually have time to call in a cancellation on the same day.

MAY 2022 Update

We opened up new patient consultations for September at 7:30 this morning. We are currently scheduling the consultation appointments in November. The days are going fast!  Many people had marked their calendars and called first thing.

ONCE WE SCHEDULE THROUGH THE END OF DECEMBER WE WILL AGAIN PAUSE TAKING NEW PATIENTS.

We did not expect this type of response when we opened up appointments again. Unfortunately, we can still only see so many people. Yes, there are cancellations and yes we do have a list but in order to be on the cancellation list you must already be scheduled for an appointment. We will not have a list of people to call who are not scheduled as they may never get in to see us. Cancellations do happen but it is rare that people call ahead and cancel.  We mainly find out someone isn't coming when they don't arrive for their scheduled appointment. This means we don't have time to call people to fill the appointment before the next scheduled patient is taken in. We are looking ahead to how we can expand our office and see more patients in the future. Thank you so much for wanting to see us.  We hope we can serve you soon.

March 2022 Update

New patient consultations are still closed.  We are very heavily booked through the end of August. We will begin scheduling new patients again May 2nd.  Please be aware that we will be scheduling for September 2022. As soon as September-November are full we will again be closing to new patients.

We are still following recommended COVID protocols. Health care providers are under different guidelines than businesses or schools. We are asking our standard questions regarding fever, cough, and breathing and then requiring a mask to get from the car to the treatment room. We appreciate that people are tired of these protocols but we are doing what we can to ensure the safety of our patients and employees as well as following the recommended guidelines. (You might have to answer them once a day to get into our office, we have to ask them every 15 minutes!!  We get it!!)

Relines are scheduling at the end of June right now. Same day repairs are scheduling mid to late May.

PLEASE CALL US TO DISCUSS YOUR SITUATION!!

We cannot do any walk-in appointments, you MUST have a scheduled appointment.

If we give you a date and time and you think it is absurd, we think the same thing!  But we can only see so many patients a day. The appointments are not available because someone is already scheduled in that time slot. We will not cancel a scheduled patient to put someone else in their place (sorry Mom, you too!). We never expected our schedule to be this full and we are grateful and appreciative for all our patients. Change never comes easy and the way we see patients now is not the way we "used to" but we are still doing our best to meet the needs of everyone who comes to our office. Thank you for your patience and kindness as we continue to deal with the aftereffects of a global pandemic.

February 2022 Past Updates: (If you wanted to see how our office has progressed since the shutdown in March 2020)

February 2022 Update

NEW PATIENT CONSULTATIONS ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED

New patient consultations for new dentures and partials are booked through the end of August 2022. Repair and Reline information can be found below.  We will open the September 2022 calendar on May 1st.  We will not have a cancellation list for September consultations as our current cancellation list has over 60 people on it. YOU CAN CALL MAY 1ST TO SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION FOR SEPTEMBER.

Previous patient consultations for new dentures and partials are scheduling mid-July (as of 2/2/22).

REPAIRS for new patients are scheduling 3-6 weeks out, depending on how many people need repairs in any given week. New Patient repairs require 2 appointments - the first appointment is when we meet you for the first time, take a medical and dental history, discuss what is needed and the cost and then the second appointment is when you pick up your repair. We try to schedule those on the same day, one in the morning, the other in the afternoon. Other arrangements can be made. Previous patients have other options. BOTH NEW AND PREVIOUS PATIENTS NEED TO CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT.  WE CANNOT ACCEPT ANY WALK-INS.

RELINES for both new and previous patients are scheduling in May as of this posting (2/2/22).

Our COVID screening questions are still being asked. Masks are still mandatory to get from your car to the treatment room. We understand that people are frustrated with all the things surrounding COVID. We STILL need to ask the questions (even if you're vaccinated) and we STILL need to follow the guidelines given to us. We are not willing to lose our licenses or be fined because a patient doesn't feel they need to follow the guidelines. We can refuse to do work for any patient who is not willing to follow our policies. We are trying to stay kind and not get frustrated with people as we continue to do our jobs to the best of our abilities.  We love our patients and work very hard to keep everyone as happy as possible but we can only do so much work on any given day.

January 2022 Update!

We have been in the office grinding away for 2 weeks now.  We did reopen our new patient consultations and are currently scheduling in August. Once we have filled August we will again stop taking new patients until May.

**We have been doing our best to get people into and out of the office in the safest manner possible. To that end, we have tightened up our COVID protocols again due to the higher numbers in our area.

  • You will again be asked some simple COVID screening questions: Have you had a fever in the last 2 weeks? Have you had any shortness of breath, difficulty breathing or a cough in the last 2 weeks?  Have you been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID in the last 2 days.
  • We reserve the right to reschedule your appointment if we feel that you could be a possible carrier.
  • You will need a mask to get from your vehicle to our treatment room where it will have to come off. We have yet to be able to work in your mouth under a mask (haha!)
  • If you are bringing a repair to our office PLEASE have it clean and in a baggie or denture box without water when you arrive.  WE CANNOT TAKE A DENTURE FROM YOUR MOUTH TO REPAIR IT. If you are wearing your denture when you arrive you will be asked to mask up, come inside and rinse it in the sink in the bathroom before placing it in the pan provided and it will be disinfected in front of you.

Our schedule is still booking very far out. Please call our office and discuss your scheduling needs if you know you will be having dental work that will result in needing work done to your partial or denture. We will let you know when our schedule is available.  We understand that things do happen and we will do our best to get you in as quickly as possible but we will not be canceling or rescheduling a patient already scheduled to get someone in ahead of them. They have waited patiently for their scheduled appointment and we will not move it.

December Update!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Thank you so much for working with us this year during a difficult and trying time when protecting people's health is as important as bringing them the denture or partial they need.  We appreciate all the support and understanding from everyone who has visited us this year. Please note that we do have a HOLIDAY SHUTDOWN where we spend time with our families to recharge and get ready for the next year. The office is CLOSED from December 23rd at 10am until January 3rd at 7:30am. We recognize that things are bound to happen over the holidays (they always do!) but with Dentures and Partials, there are no true emergencies that require us to leave our families to complete a repair. We do not work on natural teeth so if you break a natural tooth, have tooth pain or an abscess begins, please call your General Dentist or go to the Emergency Room. If your denture or partial is causing a sore, you can keep it out for periods of time and swish it with salt water no more than twice a day. Please call our office and leave a message if you need to schedule a repair or an adjustment and we will schedule you once we return. It is possible to eat without your denture and partial, just keep the foods soft and avoid anything that needs extra chewing (Roast beast at the Who Feast will just have to wait a day or two!).  We will again be scheduling new patient consultations when we reopen on January 3rd. Those appointments will be in June and July. Once those two months are filled we will again stop taking new patients until April. We hope that you get to see loved ones this year and spend time with those that matter to you. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to serving you again.

November Update:

October 2021 update

We are currently scheduling new patient consultations for the last week of April. Once we have filled May we will again pause taking new patients until January 2022.

We are fully scheduled for 2021 for ALL patients to make new dentures for this year.

Relines are scheduling at the end of January 2022 for all patients.

New Patient repairs require 2 appointments - one to see you to discuss the repair and one at least 5 hours later to pick up the repair. These are scheduling about 3 weeks out right now.

Previous patients who need repairs do have other options, please CALL FIRST before coming over with your repair. We have not been able to take walk-in repairs since the reopening after the pandemic last year.

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT IN ORDER TO BE SEEN, EVEN IF IT IS FOR AN ADJUSTMENT.

You cannot walk into our office at any time, even if you have a scheduled appointment. You must call from your vehicle to be checked in and we will come get you when the room is available. If you don't have a cell phone you can knock loudly on the front door and WAIT for us to come out, or wave to us through the window and we will come out. Our waiting room is too small to allow people to pass through while people are waiting in it. We realize this is an inconvenience, but we have not had time to renovate the office to make the waiting room larger. Because we do not have a waiting room available we ask that all transportation remain for the duration of the appointment as you will need to exit the building at the end of your appointment.

Please feel free to call the office and ask questions. We are always available to talk about how we can help. Thank you!!

August 31, 2021

We have been scheduling new patient consultations in 2022 for 1 month and we again have to PAUSE accepting new patients. We are fully booked through the end of March 2022. We will begin taking new patient consultations in October to schedule for April of 2022.

We are grateful for everyone who has recommended us to family and friends, without you all we wouldn't be where we are today.  We wish we could see more patients but we are a small office and intend to remain that way. Part of what makes the experience in our office so good is the family atmosphere and the attention to detail we give to every patient. We are not willing to sacrifice that so we need to just keep scheduling patients the best we can.

We are also experiencing a surge in repairs and relines. Repairs are scheduling out about 1 month and relines are now scheduling in December. We are still following the COVID guidelines that require a 30-minute minimum appointment for each patient. This means we need to have an appointment available to schedule you. We know that adjustments "will only take 5 minutes" but we need to be sure to adhere to the guidelines. We also need to allow room for patients who have newly inserted their dentures to have adjustments to be sure they are pain-free. Needless to say, this makes for a tightly packed schedule. We honestly are doing the best we can.

We have not done any construction on our building either so our waiting room is still too small for waiting in.  It must be kept free to allow patients in and out of the treatment rooms. Please be aware that when you arrive you need to call from your car (knock on the door if you have no cell phone). We will escort you into the building for your appointment once the treatment room is cleaned from the previous patient. Once your appointment is complete you will then be escorted back out of the building. Please be sure to arrange transportation to meet these needs. We truly are grateful for everyone who understands the restrictions and guidelines we need to follow and treats us accordingly. We really are doing our best to meet your needs as quickly as possible.

August 4, 2021

We have opened the 2022 calendar and have begun to schedule appointments for January, February, and March. We will continue to schedule patients on a first come, first served basis. This does mean that our phone has a tendency to have a busy signal more often than before, but if you are persistent you will get through eventually!

I can tell you that since we started taking appointments on Monday we have already filled January and are now scheduling February. Once March is full we will again pause taking new patients until November (when you can call in and schedule for April 2022).

Previous patient consultations are scheduling at the end of the year. If you have been for a consultation and did not book your future appointments while you are here, please know that we are currently scheduling impressions to start a series at the end of October. We schedule in appointments on a first come, first served basis. We will do our best to get you in but we are a small office and can only service so many people at once.

I do want to take a moment to pass on some miscellaneous information:

  • Making a new denture takes 2-3 weeks and requires up to 5 appointments. We do not make new dentures in a day.
  • Immediate dentures still take 2-3 weeks to make but we can do that BEFORE your extraction appointment so you have it with you to be placed as soon as your teeth are out (this is where the "same day denture" idea comes into play, it is READY to place the same day as your teeth are extracted but not MADE in a day). After we have seen you for a referral to the oral surgeon and as SOON as you know your extraction date you should contact our office to schedule the appointments needed to have the denture ready for your extraction date. You will not be able to call us the month or week before your extractions and have a denture made.
  • A denture is a medical prosthetic.  It is NOT going to feel or behave exactly like your natural teeth. We will coach you through the changes this will mean to your speech, eating, and everything else.
  • Upper dentures DO NOT fit the same as lower dentures.  Upper dentures are held in place by suction where lower dentures get pushed around by your tongue and are only held in place by the ridge of bone your teeth grew out of. Once that ridge of bone wears away the only way to improve the fit of your denture is with implant posts.
  • YOUR denture may not behave the same as your friend's, your husband's, your aunt's cousin's brother's etc. You are a different person than anyone else and a denture made for them will not fit you. You may or may not have the same experience with dentures as someone else, but it is certainly not a process that is equal for everyone!
  • Repairs are scheduling about a month out.  I do apologize that we cannot see you the day you break your denture or partial to get it repaired for you but we do have to follow the guidelines in place for seeing patients in our office AND we can only do so many repairs in a day.  We have appointments that we hold open in our schedule but once they are full we cannot invent any more for that day.  We will get creative in how we schedule you if you are up for it, just call and talk to us and we will work with you to the best of our ability.
  • Relines are scheduling in November regardless of if you are a previous patient or a new patient.  We have a cancellation list that has about 30 people on it at any given time and most of the time you come off the cancellation list because your scheduled appointment arrives.
  • Consultation appointments are when we can answer all of the questions that you have in regards to what will best help YOU.  Our wonderful office staff will give generalized information over the phone but we cannot use that phone conversation as your consultation.  Every new patient starts with a consultation, you cannot begin with impressions during that consultation appointment.  There is a large amount of information that needs to be discussed and impressions take their own 30 minute appointment.
  • We will continue to do our very best for all of the people that contact our office and want to become patients here. This does mean that we will take the time necessary to be sure you are as well informed as you can be.  Please understand that we take this time with EVERY patient and we will not short someone else's time for anyone.

June 3, 2021

We are currently fully scheduled for NEW PATIENT CONSULTATIONS for 2021. That means we have no more new patient consultations available through December of 2021.  We also have a cancellation list of over 80 people. What does this mean if you want to become a patient of ours to have new dentures or partials made?  We are opening our January 2022 schedule August 1st.  We will schedule January-March 2022 and once those are scheduled we will again be "pausing" until we are 6 months prior to the next available new patient consultations. We understand this is difficult to hear, it was a difficult choice to make!  But we cannot continue to schedule more than 6 months in advance. If you are a PREVIOUS PATIENT we still have a appointments available for this year to make new dentures and partials.  Please call our office to discuss what you need and we will see how we can accommodate you. We are still doing repairs and relines!  You do need an appointment for every visit to our office. Currently relines are scheduling at the beginning of September. Repair appointments vary depending on if you are a previous patient or a new patient.  Please call our office and we will give you our next available appointment time.  We may not be able to get your repair done the day you call.  Most likely we will have to schedule you a few days to a few weeks out depending on what type of repair you need. **Masks are still required to enter the building.*You need to be escorted into the building YOU CAN NOT WALK IN WHEN YOU ARRIVE.  Please call from your car when you arrive or KNOCK ON THE DOOR. If you walk in we will immediately ask you to please step outside and someone will be out in a moment to check you in. There are more than a few signs that are posted to help people navigate our front door. Please read the signs.

April 22, 2021

Happy Spring!!

It has been a wonderful beginning to the year!  We are grateful for the weather that has "helped" us out by not having us close too often with winter storms OR for having so much precipitation that it was difficult checking patients in from their vehicles. You all have been so patient and we are thankful.

We are currently pausing our NEW PATIENT CONSULTATION appointments. If you are looking to see us for new dentures and partials and you are not an existing patient, we are fully booked for 2021. We should be opening up the 2022 calendar towards the end of July/beginning of August. It seems crazy, but that's where we're at right now.

PREVIOUS PATIENT appointments for replacement dentures are scheduling through the summer months right now, please call us to see when we have an opening.

If you are a NEW PATIENT and need to have a REPAIR or RELINE done, we have appointments available to help you!  Give us a call to schedule an appointment. Repairs are booking out about 3 weeks right now for NEW patients, PREVIOUS patients have some additional options, just give us a call!  Relines are scheduling towards the end of July right now for both NEW and PREVIOUS patients.

At this time, ALL VISITS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY!! We cannot allow walk-ins due to the COVID guidelines that are in place.  We will do our very best to get you scheduled appropriately when you call.

Answers to some common questions ----

YES! We still need to ask you the COVID screening questions, even if you have "had your shots". The vaccine is going to help YOU to not contract a serious case of COVID, but it does not prevent the spread to others.

YES! You need an appointment to see us. If you arrive at our office without an appointment you will not be seen that day, we will schedule you an appointment at our front door for the next appropriate available appointment.

YES! You need to be screened before coming into the building. All patients are escorted into the building after they call to let us know they have arrived and have been COVID screened.

YES! Masks are required for everyone to enter the building. They will be taken off once you are in the treatment room.

YES! The employees are screened for work each morning. BUT because of the spacing of their workstations and the extra air filtration we have in place, they are not required to wear a mask all day. Mike and Joe will always be masked in the treatment rooms.  Sonya and Jessi will be masked when they are talking with patients and when they go outside to escort in a patient.

JANUARY 8, 2021 Update

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  We did close for our annual Holiday break but we are rested and refreshed and ready to start helping as many people as possible again!

The COVID screening protocols we currently follow are:

*Limited number of patients allowed in the building per day.

*Anyone entering the building MUST have answered the screening questions, have their temp taken, AND wear a mask through the lab.

*You MUST have an appointment to see us. We can no longer allow walk-in patients.

We are doing the very best we can to ensure everyone's safety as well as following the state guidelines so that we may remain operational.  Our livelihoods and those of our employees depend upon us following the regulations so that we may remain open and serving our wonderful patients.  Please continue to be understanding of those restrictions and we will continue serving you with a Smile.

Due to the restrictions on patient scheduling we do have a very long waiting list to enter our office as a new patient for a new set of dentures or partials.  We can get patients in sooner for repairs and relines (current patients and new patients) but there have been some changes with that as well. Please CALL and we can discuss your specific needs.

Jessi has been working diligently through the list of those who called before we could schedule patients BUT if you think we have missed you, PLEASE CALL AGAIN!  We do not want to forget anyone!

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.  Together we can continue providing great dentures and partials to everyone who asks.

AUGUST 13, 2020 Update

We are so busy!  It's amazing. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

With the guidelines for the COVID pandemic, we are doing the best we can to get people scheduled as quickly as possible. And you do NEED to BE SCHEDULED. We can no longer do patient drop-offs for repairs or walk-in adjustments. YOU MUST CALL FIRST so we can schedule you. This does mean that repairs are scheduling out 4 weeks right now. Adjustments we are still trying to get scheduled in within 2 days of your phone call. Reline appointments are scheduling out 2 months. Today I scheduled our next reline as October 12th. This is for previous patients as well as new patients. NEW PATIENT CONSULTATIONS - I have almost finished calling and rescheduling all the patients from the shutdown March - May. (If I have missed you, please call me!)  It has been difficult as we were already booked through August and then we had to reschedule people into that full calendar.  I have currently filled all Consultation appointments through December 2020. We have not opened up the January calendar yet - I won't open it until I have attempted to reschedule all the cancellations. I do have a call list (3 pages long) for people to contact once I begin scheduling.  This means that I will call you most likely in 3-4 weeks and I will be scheduling you for January or February consultations. PLEASE!!! If you need something from us CALL FIRST!!  I do not like having to "be mean" by turning people away who drive to my office with issues. Our schedule and the COVID guidelines can only allow us to see a certain number of people per day.  If you are not scheduled for today and you drive to my office, all I will be able to do is schedule an appointment for you and give you a reminder card. Thank you so much for your understanding!

6/10/2020

WE STILL HAVE PEOPLE TO RESCHEDULE!

WE ARE FULLY OPERATIONAL AND SEEING PATIENTS FOR REPAIRS AND RELINES AS WELL AS NEW DENTURES AND PARTIALS.

We have steadily been working through the list of people with repairs as well as the people who were scheduled to see us the 3 months that we were closed. This means it's difficult to get into our office and we cannot see new patients at this time.

We can no longer do "walk-in" repairs or adjustments. Every person coming to our office needs an appointment time and to participate in our COVID screening questions. We also need to take your temperature. Anything above 100.4 and we cannot take your repair or bring you into our office. These are the guidelines adopted by the Maine Dental Board. Failure to comply means that we can lose our license and be shut down. We are following these guidelines in an attempt to keep everyone as safe as we possibly can with what is known about COVID-19. "Better safe than sorry" has never been more apt. None of our screening information is shared with anyone, including the ME Government or CDC. It is part of your dental health chart and is protected under HIPPA.

We ask for your continued patience and understanding. New patients that don't mind waiting for a call back can be scheduled in November at this time.  Once we finish the rescheduling we might be able to pull the appointment closer so you can be placed on a cancellation list. We will try to keep everyone as updated as possible with any changes to the guidelines. Thank you!

WE ARE OPENING TO PATIENTS MONDAY MAY 18th!!!

YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO BE SEEN - NO MORE WALK-IN PATIENTS

We have already started contacting those patients who called us while we were closed. They are being scheduled on a first called, first to come back in status. We will do our very best to work through the list as quickly as possible. We had 127 repairs that called while we were closed. We are also working on adjustments to existing dentures and partials into the mix. We are not yet scheduling patients for new dentures and partials or relines as we want to get through the repairs first. PLEASE KNOW THAT WE ARE DOING OUR BEST to accommodate everyone and get everyone Smiling Again. We ask that you remain patient and kind with us.

The Maine Dental Board did meet Friday, May 15th and they made changes that will allow us to get back to working on everyone, assuming we have the correct infection protection procedures and items in place. The supply chain for some of these items is long and expensive but we have what we need to get started and more will continue to come into our office as we need it.

We are almost there! We are hoping to start calling in those patients on our list of repairs tomorrow 5/12. If you are not already on the list, please call and we will add you to it. If no one is in the office, leave a message and we will call you.

There will be some changes though.

  • We can no longer allow walk-in patients. You will need to call first and receive an appointment time in order to be seen.
  • Our waiting room is too small, it will not be used for waiting. You will need to stay in your car.
  • You will need to call when you get here and we will come out to you to receive your denture repair.
  • Your denture or partial needs to be cleaned at home and brought to us in a bag/denture box. You should not be wearing it when you arrive.  We will refuse to take it from you if you take it out of your mouth when you get here and put it in a bag. It needs to be brushed and rinsed at home before being bagged.
  • We will need to take your temperature, we have a forehead scanner that will not touch you.
  • We have masks for you if you don't have one of your own.
  • We have a list of questions we need to ask you before we can take your denture or partial.
  • We will give you a quote for the repair that will be done and a time to come back for your completed repair. When you come back you will again be met outside. You and up to 1 support person will be escorted inside to the treatment room. There we will make sure the repair fits well and receive payment. The provider will be masked at all times. You will wear a mask through the laboratory, though it will need to be removed once you are in the treatment room and put on again to leave.

We have also had to make adjustments to our prices. Repairs will be starting at $150. We now need much more infection control materials than before and the supply chain prices have been rising throughout the pandemic. We have done our best to keep the increase as low as possible but it needed to be done in order for the business to survive reopening.

We don't know yet when we will be able to begin scheduling non-emergency appointments. Relines and new dentures are still on hold according to the recommendations of the Federal CDC and the Maine Dental Board. Your safety as well as our staff's safety is of the utmost importance. The Maine Dental Board has let it be known that anyone who does not exactly follow their guidelines will be investigated and their license would then be in jeopardy in addition to being fined. We want our patients to be as happy as possible, but not at the expense of our livelihood. We will continue to monitor what the Dental Board will allow and contact those patients who we had to cancel during the pandemic to schedule them before we schedule new patients.

With a whole bunch of kindness and a little bit of patience, we will all get through this together!

Just to keep you informed, we are working on setting up infection control practices and social distancing guidelines for our office in the hopes that we can begin seeing patients soon.

We understand that people are itching to get in to see us but we need to be certain that we do so in the best way possible to keep our patients and our families safe. If we rush in without the appropriate safety measures no one wins.

We have a list of people who have called to let us know they need repairs and adjustments. They will be the first ones called and scheduled for appointments. We have to suspend our "normal" practice of having people walk in and drop off repairs.

WE WILL ONLY BE ABLE TO SEE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS. WALK-INS CANNOT BE ACCOMMODATED.

Stay safe everyone! Please call the office at (207) 514-0660 if you would like to be added to the repairs and adjustments list. Leave a message and you will be contacted. Thank you!!

But still pertaining to today...

If you make the drive to our office and there are people working in the lab behind a locked door, please understand that they will not be opening the door as they will be unable to help you. We are not being rude, the person working may not be a licensed provider (making them unable to help you) and we are also trying to keep the building as contaminate free as possible to ensure we can reopen as quickly as possible.

Yes, there will still be broken dentures and partials during this time. The world will not stop just because there's a new virus. It is still possible to eat and smile without your denture or partial in place. It is not a life-threatening situation. But if you feel the need to self-repair a denture or partial we caution you that the kits you purchase at the pharmacy that are acrylic create a "new bond" with your denture that we cannot take off. If it is not done just right we cannot fix it for you. If you absolutely need to self-repair, we can remove some of the regular superglues. Remember LESS works better than MORE and don't "fix it" multiple times with superglue as this creates a buildup that may not be removable. This does not guarantee that we can then repair your break, but it does allow us to see the original relationship with the broken areas.

If you have a sore spot or hot spot from your dentures, take them out. Let your mouth rest. Swish with salt water no more than twice a day to help the inflammation heal. Call our office and leave a message with your name and contact information and we will contact you once we know the day we can reopen to get you scheduled in right away.

Please stay safe, take common sense precautions, and remember to tell your kids or grandkids that they are living history right now that will some day be taught to their kids - make the most of it! Call your family and friends every day and keep in touch with them.  We'll see you on the other side.
